THE ACADEMY
FIRST NATIONAL FLUTE ACADEMY
The first Colombian National Flute Academy took place in Hotel Abaunza of Villa de Leyva from July 26th until August 3rd 2008, with the participation of 23 flutists.
54 hours of individual classes were given including 18 hours of chamber music and 7 different seminaries.
Musical work included a repertoire of approximately 40 different pieces and a number of diverse pieces of chamber music.
The final concert was given on August 2nd in which 19 students participated accompanied by the pianist Marjorie Tanaka.
Mrs. Tanaka is a professor at the conservatory of the National University in Bogotá.
